Bombardier double-deck trains for Germany
German Rail ordered 27 double-deck trains for long distance service. They each consist of a locomotive series 146.2 and 5 double-deck cars including control car. In addition, two reserve cars were ordered. The product is referred to as Twindexx Bombardier has nothing to do with the sold to SBB drive trains. The € 362 million contract is to be delivered by December 2013 and aims to alleviate Fahzeugnot of Deutsche Bahn. It is the first order for double-deck trains in long distance for the German Railway.
